It sure is a different world today.  In this brave new world of social media, texting, & blogging,  everyone is now a writer.  Of course it doesn’t mean they’re a good writer!

I’ve been in the wine biz now for over 6 years, but still consider myself a newbie.  From a blogging standpoint this is a good thing because it means I can write on a level that anyone can appreciate – regardless of their knowledge of wine.

As the Founder and Owner of Pinot, I’ve had quite an education in the world of wine and wine accessories.  Now I am also a certified wine educator; having recently earned the Intermediate Level Certificate from the internationally-recognized Wine & Spirit Education Trust based in London.  I’ve also had the good fortune of touring and tasting at a number of California and local wineries.

So this is my first blog.  I’m not really saying much here except that I’m looking forward to sharing my quirky insights in the blogosphere.

Here’s one for ya:  have your ever tried pairing potato chips with sparkling wine (often mistakenly called Champagne)?  It can be quite heavenly!  Try it at your next Summer BBQ and it will be the hit of the party.

And, if you’re looking for a tasty Summer sparkler, try the Cuvee Chardonnay from Pinnacle Ridge Winery.  Now available at Pinot for just $25! This delicious sparkling wine is made in the traditional method of Champagne and it goes just as well with potato chips as it does with foie gras.
