Finger Lakes Wine Class

In 1951 Dr. Konstantin Frank, a viticulturist from the Ukraine, arrived in the Finger Lakes in upstate New York. At that time only hybrid and native American grapes were being grown commercially in the region. Conventional wisdom at the time was that this region was simply too cold for European style vitis vinifera grapes to be grown here. Dr. Frank knew that if he could grow grapes and make vinifera wines in the Ukraine there was no reason why he couldn’t do it in the Finger lakes.

Today, nearly 70 years later, the Finger Lakes is home to hundreds of wineries and 3 distinct wine trails. Come learn more about this exciting up and coming wine region while tasting 5 distinctly different styles.
