Red varietals make the perfect glass when you are looking for a richer taste. That being said, each varietal come with its own flavors, benefits, and downfalls. These wine love to breathe, so open a bottle, give it some time, and enjoy your favorite red!

Barn Red Blend, Paradocx Vineyards          [750mL Bottle $15, 3.5L ‘Paint Can’ $40]
Medium body red with aromas of red berries and plums combined with pleasant notes of oak. Blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc grapes.

Barbera, Harvest Ridge Winery          [750mL Bottle, $25]
Unique dry, lighter-bodied red wine like its northern Italian equivalent.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Paradocx Vineyards      [3.5L ‘Paint Can’ $45]
An exceptionally elegant wine that offers attractive notes of tobacco, plums and prunes, slight chocolate with a background of leaves and a hint of vanilla. It has smooth tannins on a medium body.

Cabernet Franc, Pinnacle Ridge Winery    [750 mL Bottle, $18]
Dry wine displays herbal aromas, hints of vanilla, and crushed berries. The flavor profile follows that of the nose, moderate tannins with aging potential.

Cabernet-Merlot, Harvest Ridge Winery         [750mL $25]
A medium-bodied red with smokiness and tasted oak. Tart cherry and firm tannins throughout

Chambourcin, Harvest Ridge Vineyards            [750mL $17]
A deep purple hued wine with a fruity raspberry nose with hints of apple spice and licorice. the dark fruit flavors continue on the palate, making this a great summer red to enjoy at room temperature or slightly chilled with your barbecue.

Chambourcin, Pinnacle Ridge Vineyards           [750mL $16]
2013 PA Farm Show Medal Winner! This is often referred to as the “Lehigh Valley’s grape.” Enjoy with heartier fare or pastas, boasts a truly bright and complex mouth feel bursting with crushed raspberries. Aged in Pennsylvania oak.

Chambourcin Reserve, Pinnacle Ridge Vineyards     [750mL $20]
This wine exhibits the typically intense color of Chambourcin. One finds aromas of toasty, spicy Hungarian oak and cherry. This fruit driven wine has moderate tannins, a lingering finish of toasted oak that will help our Chambourcin Reserve to age gracefully. 

Classico, Auburn Road Vineyards        [750mL $23]
Classico is the wine we set out to make when we started Auburn Road. A complex blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chambourcin aged 18 months in oak, Classico will be a great complement to a good meal and a wonderful first glass to have at the end of a good day. Compare with your favorite Chianti Reserve.

Eidólon, Auburn Road Vineyards           [750mL $30]
This “Eidólon” is our image of the ideal wine – as interpreted through the soils and climate of the Garden State’s Outer Coastal Plain – a dry, deep, flavorful red blend of Chambourcin and Merlot. We created this wine to help support the Walt Whitman Association in its work including the restoration and preservation of the Walt Whitman House in Camden, New Jersey.

Gaia, Auburn Road Vineyards     [750mL $25]
Gaia is a sophisticated dry red blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Aged two years in French oak barrels, Cabernet Franc creates a savory yet floral bright wine while Merlot builds a silky finish. The addition of Petit Verdot provides well-integrated, chewy, dusty tannins.   

Good Karma, Auburn Road Vineyards           [750 mL $15]
Good Karma is a light, fruity red blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. Wonderful hints of cherry and strawberry. Matches well with poultry, pork and heavier fish like tuna steaks or grilled salmon. Good Karma has been at the center of every Auburn Road Thanksgiving dinner since 2005 – it is perfect with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce, especially if there is a little sweetness in the meal. It is also a great light-bodied red for the summer with a little chill on it. Good Karma can go anywhere you might take a Beaujolais Nouveau . Good Karma may have a funky name but it has become a true expression of how we got here and gave us our motto – “Everything Matters“.

Leverage, Paradocx Vineyards     [750mL $30]

Dark ruby in color with medium to full body. Aged in French oak for 8 months, it displays aromas of red berries and spices. A unique hint of tobacco and leather with a vanilla finish.

Leverage Reserve, Paradocx Vineyards     [750mL $30]

50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Cabernet Franc with aromas of black pepper and cassis fruit with notes of fresh red fruit.

Malbec, Harvest Ridge Winery       [750mL $30]
Try this unique expression of the Malbec grape grown in Delawere. Prominent flavors of dark fruit and tobacco.

Merlot, Pinnacle Ridge Vineyards         [750mL $16]
Intense purple/red color with beautiful dark fruit aromas coupled with PA oak.

Quaff, Pinnacle Ridge Vineyards           [750mL $14]
Always one of our favorite “quaffable” wines made from a unique blend of Chambourcin and barrel-aged Pinot Noir. We call this light and casual red the ultimate pizza wine but Quaff is great with any pasta dish! Perfect for the red wine lover who wants something not too oaky and not too sweet (2% residual sugar). 2010 PA Wine Competition Medal Winner!

Quill, Hawk Haven Winery           [750mL $35]
Bouquet of red apple skin, raspberry and leather with a smooth, full body palate of dark plum and rose petal. Finished with a nice mix of fruit and tannins.

Red No. 47 Red Blend, Harvest Ridge Winery   [750mL $18]

A deep purple-hued, unoaked red wine blend with a fruity plum and black cherry nose with hints of peppercorn spice. The dark fruit flavors continue on the tart but smooth palate, making this a perfect summer red served at room temperature or slightly chilled with pizza, burgers, wings, or barbeque.

Veritas, Pinnacle Ridge Winery      [750mL $25]

Classic Bordeaux-style blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Petit Verdot producing ruby red color of medium intensity. Barrel-aged for eighteen months in French, Hungarian and American Oak. Rich and sophisticated, this wine is smokey and toasty on the nose with tantalizing flavors of currants and plums. Enjoy prime rib, pork loin or duck with this well-balanced blend.
